John Scott was featured in ILLUSTRATION Magazine #14 in 2005
John Scott started as a pulp cover artist, and did 331 covers… he signed his name “J.W. Scott”…
… then in 1941 he renounced his entire body of work for the pulps and never again signed his name “J.W. Scott” as he strived to move up to the more sophisticated arena of magazine illustration….

John Scott’s wife FLAVIA
A 1948 pic of Flavia Scott posing — at the time she was 6 weeks pregnant with her daughter Cam, who has helped contribute to this webpage…
Flavia was a watercolor artist, she did still life illustrations that are rarely seen…
Flavia’s father was FRANK C. BENSING the famous illustrator….
And finally….
A self-portrait that John Scott did when he was just 16 years old!
